OPEN CALL for 3 artists in Glosolì I.R.A. during the Carnival period, we have one double room and one single room.
Come to Glosolì International Artist Residency to create your own art, inspired by the battle of the oranges!
Glosolì I.R.A. is located in the historic centre of Ivrea, in front of the main theatre, and in the beating heart of the Carnival and of the battle.
The historic Carnival of Ivrea has got an amazing historic and folkloric tradition and the unique battle of the oranges. It’s a magic atmosphere that can light up creative work! Artists will take part to the event for the last 2 days of the Carnival (16 and 17 of February) and continue the residency to complete their work. The residency period is either 2 or 4 weeks. Eventually there will be an exhibition of the works at the end of the residency in Glosolì spaces, open to the public.
Artists can work to their own projects that can be completed and nourished by elements of this astonishing Italian event.
The open call is directed to these kind of artists: photographers, videoartists, performers, painters (we don’t have studios, just a beautiful rooms), dancers, choreographers, actors, visual artists, musicians, writers.
Roberta Tirassa, the director of Glosolì, dancer and choreographer can help to connect the guests with local artists. Artists must be willing to share their experience in an open atmosphere of exchange.
Glosolì has no economic support.
Artists must pay their own travel and visa and the cost of the accommodation and food and keep the spaces clean. Glosolì is a strictly no smoking place.
Double room: 300 €/person for 2 weeks
Single room: 350 €/person for 2 weeks.
Glosolì has got a dance studio and 2 rooms. There is no art studio, only bedrooms with table, so your work must be feasible in these conditions. We don’t have wifi connection.
Ivrea is one hour train far from to Torino, and Aosta and 2 hours train from Milano.
Period of the Ivrea Carnival: February 14th to 17th 2015.
Period of the residency: from the 16th of February to the 1st of March 2015 (2 weeks) or from the 16th of February to 15th of March 2015.
IMPORTANT: Artists must arrange their travel in order to arrive at Ivrea and Glosolì strictly on Monday 16th of February 2015 from 8.00 A.M. to 12 A.M., otherwise they will miss the event!!
